Ceasefire Violation By Pakistan In Jammu Region Kills One, Injures Seven

Pakistan on Monday once again resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control in Jammu's Poonch sector, leaving one civilian dead and seven others injured, reports say. Colonel Manish Mehta said, "Pakistan army used 82 mortars, rocket ropelled guns (RPGs) and automatics to target our positions on the LoC in Poonch district." "Pakistan shelling and firing started at 11 p.m. on Sunday," he added. "Our troops are effectively and appropriately responding. Intermittent firing exchanges continued till Monday morning," Mehta said.
