7 Killed, Several Injured In Syrian Bombings

At least seven people were reported dead while some others injured in bombings carried out by the Syrian army and governmental forces in the Dera province on Saturday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) told the media that five civilians, including one woman, were killed and several others were wounded in the Army's bombings on the towns of al-Sahwa and Jasm, located in the east of the province, Efe news reported.

The observatory also told the media that a man and a woman lost their lives in airstrikes that targeted the eastern areas of Um al-Miyazen and Nawa, also located in Deraa.

While nine other people lost their lives in artillery shelling that occurred in late hours of Friday. The shelling was done by the governmental forces in the town of al-Kark in Dera.

The government adopted an offensive strategy from June 19 and from then the casualties bring the number of civilian deaths up to 116 including 19 minors and 23 women, according to the latest figures provided by the SOHR. Jordan recently warned it would no longer accept refugees from Syria.

According to the United Nations, approximately 45,000 people in the region have fled the bombings and artillery fire. The UNs' special envoy to the embattled country, Staffan de Mistura, warned that southern Syria could end up in a situation as "catastrophic" as Aleppo or Eastern Ghouta.
