Days after cricketer Irfan Pathan was trolled for his wife's pic where she wore a hijab but had her hands exposed, India pacer Mohammad Shami has come under fire from trolls over a picture of his wife.
As Shami shared pictures of his daughter's second birthday celebrations, social media trolls focussed on his wife Hasin Jahan who was not wearing a hijab during the birthday party. Many felt that Hasin had committed a 'sin' for not wearing a hijab.
Several people commented on the missing hijab, and even slammed Shami for celebrating the birthday of his daughter in the first place with a person saying "Drown in shame... Are you Muslim, I don't think so you're Muslim...Islam can't allow you to celebrate Birthday in that fashion."
The fast bowler's fans however rallied around him, condemning the negative comments on him.
Many morons r advising him that celebration bday is haram. I've never heard them saying so on SRK or Salman's bday????????https://t.co/kZKiWnxk8r— श्वेता चौहान ???????? (@Shwetaa_Chauhan) July 18, 2017
Best wishes to Aairah. Sorry for what happened. Tell Begum Sahiba not to get disheartened. We all are with you.— SITARAM SHARMA (@SITARAM22505796) July 19, 2017
The social media trolling comes a day after the Jadavpur police arrested 3 youths for allegedly attacking Shami when he was returning home.
Previously, Shami has been targeted on social media when he shared family pictures during Christmas time when his wife was wearing western attire.
