The recent stalking incident of an IAS officer's daughter Varnika Kundu in Chandigarh by the son of Haryana BJP chief resulted in the accused, Vikas Barala being arrested, however fingers were also pointed at the victim (or survivor) Varnika, over why she was out so late at night.

"The girl should not have gone out at 12 in the night. Why was she driving so late in the night?" BJP state vice-president Ramveer Bhatti said to media.

As once again an incident of male harassment was instead blamed on the woman harassed, Indian women around the nation have rallied in support with the #AintNoCinderella campaign, with reference to the Disney character who had to always return home by midnight.

Women flooded twitter with pictures of themselves hanging out at night along with the #AintNoCinderella hash tag condemning the victim-shaming exhibited by politicians.
