Controversial Circular Asking Girls 'Not To Roam With Boys' At NIT Calicut Goes Viral

She also mentioned that strict action will be taken against the one who will be found indulging in such activity. However, the circular was withdrawn after the outrage on social media. The circular went viral on social media platforms and irked so many including Kozhikode district collector Prasath Nair who called it 'Pathetic'. Here is how Kozikode district collector reacted to the circular: The notice, put out by ladies warden S Bhuvaneswari, read, “Inmates of Ladies hostel and Mega Ladies hostel are strictly instructed not to roam with boy students inside residential campus. We get lot of complaints in this regard. If any girl found along with boy student inside residential campus, severe action will be taken against her including suspension and expulsion from hostel.” Giving clarification on the matter G Unnikrishnan, dean of students’ welfare and a professor at NIT told," the circular was issued only in the interest of the security of female students after complaints from people living in faculty accomodations near the ladies hostel."
