Unlike Disney's family-friendly adaptation of 'Jungle Book' from director Jon Favreau in 2016, the first trailer of Andy Serkis directorial 'Mowgli' is here suggesting a dark and dangerous narrative of Rudyard Kipling's work.

Based on the 19th-century story of a human infant adopted by the wolves, the film revolves around the wild kid being an outcast not only in the human world but in the jungle as well. Sure, he will spend more time with humans but still won't fit in.

Playing the titular role, Rohan Chand is confused but brave at the same time. The emotionally heavy trailer also features Matthew Rhys and Freida Pinto but "There’s no singing or dancing by the animals, that’s for sure," as suggested by the director.

Shot entirely in a studio in California, Mowgli has roped in an extensive cast to voice the animals including Christian Bale (black panther Bagheera), Cate Blanchett (snake Kaa), Benedict Cumberbatch (tiger Shere Khan), Naomie Harris (wolf Nisha), and Peter Mullan (wolf leader Akela) among others.

The film is scheduled to release worldwide on October 19.
