In an interesting turn of event, a group of filmmakers have caught a crocodile sneaking attack on a shark while sailing on a charter fishing boat off the coast of Western Australia.

In a scheduled week long fishing expedition, filmmaker Christian Kennedy and Jadranko Silic were cruising around the Kimberly coast when the crew members started tossing fish scraps off the boat.

Talking to Perth Now, Kennedy said, "The boat crew were filleting fish from a recent fishing expedition and were disposing of some of the fish scraps off the back of boat when the croc approached from nearby mangroves."

He said, "Surrounding the boat were several sharks which had begun to circle the boat to eat the fish scraps."

"The huge saltwater croc approached the feeding frenzy of sharks. But it wasn't interested in the fish scraps, it just lay in the water patiently waiting...then suddenly, as a shark swam up to grab a fish scrap, the croc grabbed the shark and dragged it away to nearby mangroves," he added.

The video shows a crocodile waiting for sharks with open mouth as the crew threw fish scraps off the board, and lunches at the shark as it surfaces to grab the fish scrap.

Kennedy said everyone was "pretty amazed" by the brief incident.

"I've seen sharks and crocs in the wild, but I've never seen a croc catch a shark before," he said, "Everyone was pretty amazed. It's not something you see every day."
