Akshay Kumar, who is gearing up for the release of his ambitious period drama Kesari, revealed on Monday that the film inspired him to sing as well. Ahead of the song’s release, Akshay shared a video where he can be seen singing a few lines of the song.

Sharing the video on Twitter, Akshay wrote, “Next song from #Kesari, #AjjSinghGarjega is packed with so much power & pride, couldn’t stop myself from singing two lines. Here’s a teaser, full song out tomorrow by @jazzyb @ParineetiChopra @SinghAnurag79 @DharmaMovies #CapeOfGoodFilms @iAmAzure @ZeeStudios_ @ZeeMusicCompany.”

Earlier, the first song from Kesri's soundtrack, Sanu Kehndi, was released, the launch of which was dubbed by many as ill-timed owing to the fact that tensions between India and Pakistan were at their peak right after the air strike by the Indian Air Force in Balakot in retaliation to the Pulwama terror attack.

Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is based on the Battle of Saragarhi wherein a brave regiment of Sikhs fought the Afghans. Akshay, whose stint with patriotic films does not seem to calm down anytime soon, will be seen essaying the protagonist Havildar Ishar Singh who played an instrumental part in the war.

Historically, Isar Singh was also the first ever Sikh to receive the Victoria Cross, the highest honour for gallantry in the face of enmity in the British Honour System. Besides Akshay, the film also stars Parineeti Chopra. The film is releasing on March 21.
