Google conducted their I/O developer conference in California on Tuesday and gave the world a glimpse of new updates they are bringing on their varied platforms.

One of the most lauded one of these was the addition of six new voices for Google Assistant. These voices also include the likes of legendary singer, John Legend. The company made this announcement at their I/O developer conference in California.

This update is being done so that people don’t get bored of the monotonous robotic voice that the Assistant already has.

These new voices are powered by WaveNet, an AI-based voice synthesizer created by DeepMind, a subsidiary of Google UK.

WaveNet lets Google simulate entire vocabularies without needing so many actual human recordings. This will let them more easily turn popular voices — like John Legend's, and possibly others in the future —into the voice that powers your Google Home speakers and Google Assistant interactions on your phone.

Google Assistant will support 30 different languages by the end of 2018.

At the conference, the company also said that Google Photos is getting a ton of new features based on artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Along with that, they also discussed a number of new Android P OS features. It will have three core features; intelligence, simplicity, Digital wellbeing.

An update for Google Maps also will be coming which will give the user a “For You” tab, that will show them new businesses in their area and also the trending restaurants.
