Apple last week previewed iOS 11.3, the latest update to its operating system for iPhones. One of the key highlights of the up-and-coming iOS is support for Advanced Mobile Location (AML), a technology that sends users locations to emergency services when the user calls.

“Additional iOS 11.3 features include support for Advanced Mobile Location (AML) to automatically send a user’s current location when making a call to emergency services in countries where AML is supported,” Apple wrote in a blog post earlier this week.

What is AML?

The innovation was produced in the UK by British Telecom, EE Limited, and HTC to address the issue of finding user location in an emergency. When a user tries to call for any emergency service with an AML-enabled cell phone, the gadget sends area Geo-Coordinates to the agencies.

AML utilizes GPS and Wi-Fi information when somebody calls any emergency number and afterwards sends a text message with the user's exact location to responders.

AML isn't right now bolstered in the US, but in the UK, Belgium, New Zealand, Sweden, Lithuania and a few sections of Lower Austria can take advantage of the service

Prominently, all Android phones running Gingerbread Operating System (OS) or more support AML.
