Russian couple Alexandr Krushelnitckii and Anastasia Bryzgalova created history by winning the first-ever Olympic medal in curling's mixed doubles over Norway in the bronze medal match on Tuesday. The determined couple defeated Kristin Skaslien and Magnus Nedregottening 8-4 while playing for Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR).

During a highly breath-hitching moment, Bryzgalova fell hard on her backside while strategising with her teammate. However, she soon recovered and gave away a sheepish smile to her coach while laughing at her embarrassment. She then went on to stun the spectators with her spectacular hold on the game.

Anastasia noted that they drew power from their relationship and stated, "The fact that we are family helped us a lot." Notably, the losing pair is also dating and when asked about their loss, Skaslien said, "Fourth place is not bad at all and we’re happy with our performance throughout the week."

Ever since the duo clinched the bronze, the internet has been going crazy over the 25-year-old lady who, they assume, doesn't look anything less than a model. Following her dazzling display of skill on the ice, many went ahead of themselves and compared her to the likes of Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox.

The husband-wife duo was earlier defeated by Jenny Perret and Martin Rios of Switzerland who will now compete Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris of Canada in finals. Anastasia and Alexandr landed a medal in World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Sweden back in 2016.

They were beaten by Switzerland in the semi-final playoffs in South Korea. Due to the sanctions placed on Russian Olympic organisation in wake of doping allegations, the duo is competing for the Olympic Athletes of Russia team has won a historic medal.
