As India closes the first inning in the third match of Sri Lanka test series on Sunday, all-rounder Hardik Pandya has smashed a stunning hundred in just 86 balls taking the final score to 487.

The Indian cricketer bolted an amazing 108 runs with the help of 15 boundaries - eight 4s and seven 6s- before he was taken down as Dilruwan Perera catches his shot on Sandakan's ball.

With nine wickets already down, Pandya had started thrashing the Sri Lankan bowlers all around the park. Umpires also extended the morning session. Unperturbed by the conditions, Pandya continued his show and created havoc among the Sri Lankan bowlers.

India had resumed the game on the second day of the test from 329/6, but as the day started, the team started losing its batsmen. One by one, Wriddhiman Saha, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Shami were all sent packing back to the pavilion while Pandya stood on the field alone.

After an early fall of wickets, Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav had stabilised the innings and helped India reach a challenging score. Although he did manage to give Pandya a good partnership, it was short-lived as was taken out by Sandakan as well.

As soon as Pandya made his maiden century, former Indian Cricketer Virendra Sehwag couldn't stop himself from praising the 23-year-old all rounder and took to twitter saying, " Wow! What an incredible century by @hardikpandya7. Well done mere KungFu Pandya. Mazaa aa gaya."

Now Sri-Lanka is set to take the reins to chase down a challenging score target as the second innings of the match begins.
