After Indian Cricket Team White Washed Sri Lanka with 3-0 in the recently concluded test series in their home turf. The management tried to find the possible reason behind poor performance by the team. The outcome of which was the growing ‘bellies’ of the players in the team. The cricket board of the Island country has now banned sweets in the dressing room, to achieve a physique makeover of the players.

A popular website quoted the sports minister saying, “Sri Lanka is the only cricket team to have players with big bellies and it’s not surprising there are so many drops. Leave alone the catches, how many runs have leaked in the field.”

The team physio Nirmala and physical trainer Nick Lee have taken the move to ban sweet, replacing them with protein-rich diet.

Sri Lankan Cricket Team manager Asanka Gurusinha said that just like any other team our physic and trainer are managing dietary requirements of the team.

Amid criticism from several sectors of the island nation, the Sri Lankan cricket team has reportedly welcomed the initiative to ban sweets, in a supportive manner.
