Kohli in the press conference said: There has been a lot of speculation. My job is to perform to the best of my abilities.

When Shastri was asked if was carrying any baggage Shastri replied: I don’t come with any baggage. I have matured over the last couple of weeks. Ravi Shastri and Anil Kumble will come and go. All the credit will go to the players.

Kohli added: We two have worked together in the past, so there will be no problem in adjusting

When asked about Bharat Arun Shastri said: You look at the last World Cup, India took 77 wickets. Bharat Arun has been brilliant.

My job as a coach is to ensure that the players are thinking about their role and giving their best for the country, Shastri added.
