The much-awaited docudrama on Indian Premier League's (IPL) most popular franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) 'Roar of the Lion' is finally out on Hotstar.com on Wednesday.

The five-part docudrama series traces the return of MS Dhoni-led team to the IPL fold after a gap of two years and their historic season triumph. The series is directed by Amir Rizvi and produced by Bollywood director-producer Kabir Khan.

Dhoni on the show recalls CSK's two-year suspension from the IPL and also the "emotional" return in 2018. Dhoni opened up on the allegations of match-fixing that were levied against him. Firstly Dhoni feels his association with CSK is like an "arranged marriage".

MS Dhoni reveals that CSK's third IPL title was won only for the fans who believed in the team against all odds. CSK came back with a tagline, 'Thirumbi vandhutenu sollu', that translates to 'tell them we are back' and ended up winning the tournament.

"Whatever I am today, whatever I have achieved is because of cricket. So the biggest crime that I can commit personally is not murder. It's actually match-fixing because it doesn't get restricted to me. If I'm involved in such a thing, it has a bigger impact. If people think a match is fixed based on the improbability of an outcome, then people lose their faith in cricket. I don't think in my life I would deal with something that is tougher than this," Dhoni says in the documentary.

Since STAR also has the IPL broadcast rights, the network has smartly decided to release all the five episodes tomorrow (20th March) in conjunction with the latest version of the IPL, which starts from 23rd March.

Shardul Thakur, Murali Vijay, Ambati Rayudu and Mohit Sharma took to Twitter to laud the legend for speaking out the truth behind the CSK corruption saga.

CSK’s title defence starts on March 23 when they play their opening match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at home. After the IPL, Dhoni will be involved in his fourth World Cup campaign with the Indian team.
