Kolkata Knight Riders journey in the eleventh season of Indian Premier League came to an end on Friday post the team's loss to SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2018 Qualifier 2 by 14 runs at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

While Rashid Khan emerged as the star of the night, KKR boys' efforts didn't go unnoticed by the team's co-owner Shah Rukh Khan, who posted a heartfelt message for the entire team on Twitter along with his smiling picture.

Having finished as the second runner-up of the tournament, KKR might not be able to play at the finals but SRK is not upset with his team, as much as many might have anticipated after his open display of disappointment in their prior performances.

He wrote, "Well was not to be. Will have to cancel my flight but KKR well done. U did yourself proud. All of u so so well done. Love you & yes I am smiling. Thks for the entertainment & so many moments of glory. V r an awesome team!"

Expressing gratitude towards Shah Rukh Khan's words, KKR opener Chris Lynn replied, "Thank you for the last 2 months mate. Couldn’t ask for better owners in yourself and Jay and also the quality coaching and support staff we have onboard the KKR family. Will be back bigger and stronger."

In an all Rashid Khan show, KKR failed to chase the target of 175 runs set by SunRisers Hyderabad, losing their chance to complete Chennai Super Kings in the final match on Sunday. The team beat Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator round to reach the Qualifier 2.
