As India Enters Fourth ODI Against Sri Lanka, Dhoni Bids To Break Records

As India prepares to enter its fourth ODI against Sri Lanka in the five ODI series. Former captain MS Dhoni has his own set of reasons to be excited. Apart from the fact that he will play his record making 300th match for the national team on Thursday, he is also due two more world record in the game.

While Sri Lankan player KC Sangakkara and MS Dhoni, both are currently at 99 stumps, Dhoni also had an 'unbeaten inning' record waiting for him to break with him standing at 72 alongside Shaun Pollock and Chaminda Vaas.

The former captain has proven his worth and dedication for the team and country time and time again. Recently chief selector MSK Prasad also praised the player sharing an incident when Dhoni was injured yet played the match against Pakistan and came out victorious.

The star player also came out a hero after he saved a losing match against Sri Lanka in the third ODI. With record breaking stumps, he has also shut the critics speculating that his time in the team was over.

Dhoni has also become the fourth highest ODI run-getter for India. With 9608 runs from 296 games, the only players above him are Sachin Tendulkar (18,426), Sourav Ganguly (11,221) and Rahul Dravid (10,768).

He has also proven to be a productive and key player in the team with his much-needed performance in the entire Sri Lankan series. The flawless performance by the players has also provided the country an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
