Australian opener David Warner has returned to the list of top 10 in ICC rankings after a valiant century. Warner's partnership of 130 for the third wicket with captain Steve Smith could not prevent Bangladesh from scoring its first ever Test win over Australia, but the left-hander had the satisfaction of moving up five slots to sixth position after scores of eight and 112.

The dashing opener still now trails Virat Kohli (who remains in fifth spot) by 27 points, though there is some distance between the India captain and the top four. Australia captain Steve Smith has retained his position at the top of the tree, on 938 points after returns of eight and 37 in Dhaka, and he is followed by England captain Joe Root (902), who made a pair of fifties in his team's loss to West Indies at Headingley. New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson (880) and India's Cheteshwar Pujara (876) round out the top four.
