Lashing out at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), former member Ramachandra Guha, on Sunday slammed the cricket board for ‘public humiliation’ of Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, and Zaheer Khan.

Guha was responding to the recent ruckus over the appointment of Indian national cricket team’s coach. On Saturday, the CoA put the appointment of consultant batting coach Rahul Dravid and consultant bowling coach Zaheer Khand saying that the decision will be taken with the consultation of the newly appointed head coach Ravi Shastri.

Infuriated by the BCCI’s handling of the situation, Rahul Guha took to twitter saying, “The shameful treatment of Anil Kumble has now been compounded by the cavalier treatment of Zaheer Khan and Rahul Dravid.”

In the following tweet, he added, “Kumble, Dravid, and Zaheer were true greats of the game who gave it all on the field. They did not deserve this public humiliation.”

Earlier, CoA chief Vinod Rai had informed that the newly appointed head coach will meet the four-member committee of the BCCI to select the support staff. He explained, “We have set up a committee of Diana Edulji, Acting Secretary Amitabh Choudhary, acting president of the board CK Khanna and CEO Rahul Johri as a convener, who will speak to them and Ravi Shastri and make the selection of the other coaches.”

The meeting, scheduled for July 18, comes after the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) appointed bowler Zaheer Khan as consulting bowling coach and Rahul Dravid as overseas consulting batting coach.

The CoA chief has cleared the air saying the CAC had just made the recommendations for the position. He said, “There's no such thing as a contract. These are just recommendations. A recommendation has been made and the CoA has to act on that. That recommendation will be acted upon in consultation of the head coach.”

Earlier, BCCI secretary, in a statement had announced that "The BCCI announces the appointment of Mr. Ravi Shastri as the Head Coach, Mr. Zaheer Khan as the Bowling Consultant and Mr. Rahul Dravid who will be the Overseas Batting Consultant (Test cricket) for the Indian Cricket Team."

I don't understand, public humiliation, what? In IPL ira where your allegiance is sold and brought for money in full public glare, where cricketers are sold like a commodity, any sold out player can not claim himself to be full human being, hence no insults involved in this case.If they had applied for it, they willingly went under the hammer and found no bidders and thus remained unsold. If they didn't apply, they shouldn't bother about it. you can not sell and buy Tajmahal by your own whims and fancy.
