The 35-year-old boxer Mary Kom, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, prevailed in a dull contest where clean punches were few and far. Despite the height advantage, 39 years old Dilrukshi struggled to connect for the most part. Mary used a low guard and used her reflexes and feet movement to take the advantage.
By being in the final, Mary Kom has ensured herself of a silver medal in her debut Commonwealth Games performance.
This is first CWG that Mary Kom has taken part in and she said this would be her last as well. She also hinted at missing out at the Asian Games to take rest and be ready for World Championship.
