"Well, definitely it was very tough. I'm shaking now, I'm really emotional,'' Halep said after her 2-hour, 20-minute semifinal win over Kerber. "I'm really glad that I could resist. I had two match balls and I lost them. Today I was like a roller coaster, up and down, but I had confidence in myself." she added.
Talking of her opponent Caroline Wozniacki Halep said: “I respect her a lot. I know it will be similar to today. I will have to run. It’s going to be a big challenge. Next round I just want to give my best. I’m not thinking about the title. If it’s going to come it will come.
It is the third major final of 27 years old Caroline Wozniacki, after 7 years when she dropped a match point against Chinese player Li Na in 2011 in the Melbourne semi-final.
After winning her semi-final match, Caroline said, “You have nothing to lose. You’re already out, you get a second chance, you fight your way. Every round I made was an extra plus, an extra opportunity. I’m just thankful that I managed to fight my way through that one.”
