The 53-year-old World Cup-winning cricket captain and Minister Arjuna Ranatunga on Thursday requested Sri Lankan cricket lovers to stop behaving like Indian spectators at the end of cricket matches.

He was referring to Sunday's bottle throwing incident at the end of the One-Day International match between India and Sri-Lanka in Pallekele. The rowdy behaviour forced the match to be stopped for a while, but eventually India hit those required eight runs without much ado to seal the five-match series.

Reacting to his comments, Indian Cricket fans went on Twitter to express their objection, but majority of the reactions borders on trolling the Sri-Lankan Minister.

One fan tweeted "@ArjunaRanatunga A man who just have 4 test hundreds in his name(just equal to what our Ashwin a batsman cum bowler has in his name".

The World Cup hero is known for making controversial comments. Last month, he had claimed that the 2011 ICC World Cup final match between India and Sri Lanka was fixed.
