The Bundi-Jaipur state highway was blocked on Friday by Hindu right-wing outfits, after a Shiva Linga was found broken at a temple in Bundi.
A Shiv Linga at the Hanuman Temple over Jait Sagar lake in Bundi was found damaged on Friday which triggered protest from VHP, Bajranj Dal and other Hindu outfits, who blocked the state highway in the area, SP Bhuvan Bushan Yadav said.
The priest noticed the broken Shiva Linga when he reached the temple for daily prayers.

The incident might have occurred between 1.30 am to 5 am as usual rituals continue in the temple till around 1.30 am, the SP said.
A mentally-challenged person has been detained in this connection, Yadav said.
The locals caught the suspect when he was running away with the donation box of the Chauth Mata temple, which is about 2 km away from Hanuman temple, and handed him over to
police, the SP said.

However, a case has also been registered against other unidentified persons under section 295 of IPC, he said.
Yadav ruled out any tension in the city due to the incident and said the situation is under control. Meanwhile, demanding immediate arrest of the accused, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajranj Dal and other Hindu outfits, blocked the Bundi-Jaipur state highway via Nainwa route.
The outfits alleged that a community engaged in illegal fishing activities in Jait Sagar lake, had damaged the Shiva Linga.
They also demanded ban on fishing in the lake and construction of strong fencing around the temple, police said.
DSP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat and Sub Division Magistrate (SDM) of Bundi Ravi Verma reached the spot and convinced the protesting activists to lift the blockade.
