As Central Government announces seven-day national mourning with no holidays on the demise of former President APJ Abdul Kalam, many states in India have declared Holiday on Tuesday as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
Most Bihar and Telangana schools, including government and private, remained closed on Tuesday as mark of respect to former president A.P.J Abdul Kalam, who passed away on Monday, an official said.
"The education department has ordered closing of all schools in the state as mark of respect to the former president," education department official R.K Mahajan said.

Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao directed Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma to issue the order declaring Tuesday a holiday.
All government offices, educational institutions in Hyderabad and nine other districts of Telangana will remain closed.
The managements of private schools and colleges also declared a holiday as a mark of respect to the former president.
