Indian Premier League chairman Rajiv Shukla's personal aide Akram Saifi was forced to resign on Thursday after he was suspended by BCCI due to a sting operation.
Akram was accused by a Uttar Pradesh cricketer of asking to arrange prostitutes in return for selection of the team. A Hindi news channel telecast an audio conversation of Akram and UP based cricketer Rahul Sharma in which the accused is heard seeking favours in cash and kind to ensure Sharma's selection in the state team.

The Indian rupee on Friday hit an all-time low of 69.13 per US dollar tracking weakness in the yuan.
According to reports in media, traders are cautious of the central bank stepping in to prevent the sharp fall in the currency.
The rupee rose by 43 paise on Thursday to 69 from 68.62 on Wednesday. It reached 69.13 for the first time in history.

The first ever 2+2 dialogue between US and India has been finally scheduled to take place on September 6 in New Delhi, the US State Department confirmed on Friday.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 13 had confirmed that the 2+2 dialogue between US-India, which had been 'postponed' twice, would take place in September, without confirming the location or the date, which have now been confirmed by the US.

Air India Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Delhi, 5 Injured During Evacuation

Up to five passengers received "minor" injuries during evacuation when a wheel of an Air
India plane with 159 people onboard caught fire while landing under emergency conditions at the Indira Gandhi International Airport following hydraulic failure, airport sources said.
"Air India flight AI 405 from Varanasi to Delhi had an emergency landing here as the pilot reported hydraulic failure at around 1916 hours. However, a small fire was seen in the
undercarriage of the aircraft after landing which was quickly doused," they said.
"All passengers were evacuated safely, however, some 4-5 of them sustained minor injuries during evacuation," sources said.
Air India said in a statement that the incident, which happened around 19:58 hours, was caused by a hydraulic leak, but claimed there was no fire and none of the 153 passengers
and six crew were injured during evacuation.
"Air India flight 405 Varanasi-Delhi had an emergency landing due to hydraulic leak. This resulted in few sparks at the nose wheel. There was no fire. All 146 passengers were
evacuated safely and taken to terminal building. No passenger was injured," the airliner said.
Runway 27, where the aircraft had landed, has been cleared, it said, adding all passengers were being served dinner and taken care of.
