When Prime Minisiter Narendra Modi had urged the VVIPs of the country to abdicate the red beacon atop their vehicle, it was an apt example of doing away with the VIP culture. However, Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh had other idea when it decided to build an extra lane on the toll plazas in the state, but, thankfully, that has now been given the red signal.
While terming it against the determination of the Prime Minister, the News World India had started a campaign regarding it which has now come to the fruition when the state government rolled back its decision. As per the information, the PWD will issue a new notification in this regard.
The extra lane was nothing but to give a special pass-way to state's leaders including MPs and MLAs on toll plazas and National Highways. The idea was to provide a cushion to state's VIPs in the face of traffic jam. The haste behind the decision can be gauged from the fact that officers were given instructions to follow the extra lane rules.
The News World India had questioned the intent and the such devious idea of the state government prominently for days.
