Kannada actor and politician Ambareesh died at 66 on Saturday in a Bengaluru private hospital due to cardiac arrest. The actor was taken to the Vikram hospital after he was found in an unresponsive state at his house.
He could not be revived and soon was announced dead by the hospital. Ambareesh, a three-time Lok Sabha member and also a former State minister, is survived by actress Sumalatha and son Abhishek.

By birth, Malavalli Huchche Gowda Amarnath was later known as Ambareesh and was born on May 1952. He had his debut in the movie Naagarahaavu which later won the national award, and was directed by Puttanna Kanagal.
The news of his demise was soon flashed across the all local news channel and soon went viral all over the internet. Tribute pours from all over India for the actor.

Hundreds of fans swarm the hospital to mourn the loss of the favourite actor. Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had also visited the hospital and asked the fans to maintain law and order.
After consulting with the family, the chief minister has made arrangements for the public to pay their last respects to Ambareesh at Kanteerva Stadium opposite Cubbon Park in the city center from 8 a.m. onwards. Kumaraswamy also assured the fans that special buses will be arranged from Ambareesh's home district (Mandya) to Bengaluru for paying homage to him.
