United States' Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley is visiting India on a two-day visit during which she will meet senior Indian officials, business leaders and students.

Haley is the first Indian-American to serve in a Cabinet-level position in any US presidential administration. This would be her first visit as the US envoy to UN. She had last visited India in 2014 as the Governor of South Carolina.

Talks between Haley, the highest ranking Indian-American in the Donald Trump administration, and Indian officials could include a host of topics including India-US strategic ties and significant global developments.

Haley will arrive at New Delhi on June 26. A brief media advisory from the US Mission to the UN said that during the visit she will meet with senior Indian government officials, NGO leaders, and the interfaith community to underscore the United States shared values and the strong alliance with the people of India.

She may also meet External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. The strategic, security and defence cooperation will be powered as the United States and India faces many global challenges, the State Department has said.

She will also share her views and ideology to a group of business and government leaders, students, and civil society regarding advancing US-India relations.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Minister of Defense Nirmala Sitharaman will visit Washington for the inaugural US-India 2+2 Dialogue on July 6 after this meeting.

Haley had visited India in late 2014 when she was the South Carolina Governor.
