Two Terrorist Killed In Gun Fight With Security Forces In J&K's Tral

Security forces killed two militants in an encounter in Tral in Kashmir’s Pulwama district Tuesday morning, an army spokesperson said.

"The encounter broke out at Tral area on Monday. The security forces had cordoned off the area and launched an operation to find out the terrorists, the police spokesperson added.

The Police further said, "The security forces began a search operation in Mir Mohalla on Monday evening. As the operation continued on Tuesday morning, the terrorists fired at the security forces triggering the gunfight."

Authorities have suspended mobile Internet services in the town.

Pulwama district has been on high alert since a suicide bomber of the Jaish-e-Mohammad killed 40 CRPF troopers on February 14 when he rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a bus in a troop convoy.

A few days back, five security personnel were martyred in the 60-hour encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara. A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier, who was injured on Friday, when the anti-terror operations started in Kupwara, died today.

Earlier two CRPF personnel, two state policemen were killed and eight others including a commandant were injured.
