Top LeT Commander Abu Dujana Killed In Pulwama Encounter

Top Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander Abu Dujana has been killed in an encounter with security forces in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. Another local militant identified as Arif Lalihaari was also killed in the gunfight.

Based on specific intelligence about the presence of Dujana and Lalihaari in the Hakripora village in Pulwama district, security forces surrounded the village at around 3 AM after which they were fired at.

According to state police chief S.P.Vaid, more details about the slain militants would be available after the bodies are recovered from the encounter site.

Officials added that "The process of recovering the bodies have started."

During the gunfight, two villages were destroyed, however, no civilian casualties were reported.

Dujana was the most wanted militant commander in Jammu and Kashmir and was wanted in over three dozen attacks on security forces and civilians. The slain militant carried a reward of Rs 15 lakh on his head.

Once the slain LeT commander's body is recovered and identified, it will mark a major success for the security forces in their anti-militancy operations, officials stated.
