The Ultimate Weapon Line-up At Rajpath During Republic Day Parade

Republic day is a unique platform to showcase the rich diversity and culture of India. It also involves the display of defence weapons by the Indian Armed Forces. This year was no different in terms of the structure of the parade. However, as every year, there are a few new additions.

Apart from the parade, this year's parade will feature tableaux from 14 states and union territories and nine central ministries. Along with flaunting the diverse culture, India also showcased their ultimate weapon line-up during the parade.

Here the most dangerous weapons which India showed off during the parade.

Nirbhay missile

This 1,500-kg two-stage missile is 6 meters long and 0.52 meter wide and can travel at a speed of up to 0.7 Mach. It has a range of 1000Kms and can carry warheads of 300 kg

INS Vikrant

INS Vikrant is the first ship of the Vikrant class of aircraft carriers. It is 262 meters (860 ft) long and 60 meters (200 ft) wide, and displaces about 40,000 metric tons (39,000 long tons). It features a Short Take-Off, The deck is designed to enable aircraft such as the MiG-29K to operate from the carrier.

According to the Chief of Naval Staff, the ship is expected to be commissioned by end of 2020.

Lockheed C-130 Hercules

This Aircraft runs on four-engine turboprop military aircraft designed and built originally by Lockheed. The C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medevac, and cargo transport aircraft. It is capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings

Sukhoi Su-30MKI

This Aircraft is very powerful as it can be operated in any weather, it’s a heavy, long-range twinjet multirole air superiority fighter built by Russia's Sukhoi under the license of India's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for the Indian Air Force.

Mi-17V-5 Military Transport Helicopter

The chopper is fitted with a heavily armoured cockpit and a self-defence system against heat-seeking missiles. It carries arms like cannons, unguided rockets and small arms.
