After a Cabinet Meeting on Wednesday, the Deputy CM of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav rubbished the BJP over corruption charges and ensured that the Grand Alliance is still intact.

The Deputy also alleged the BJP of conspiring against him and his family by saying, “These are not allegations, it is a conspiracy”.

In his first public statement reguarding the CBI case against him, JDU Chief Lalu Yadav’s son rubbished the allegations saying, “They are bringing up cases of 2004 against me. How could I be a criminal at 13 or 14, I didn't even have a 'mooch' then! How can a kid of that age do all these things they are saying?”

"We will go to the people and present the facts to them... People have sent us here," he said.

He also made a sequence of tweets defending his stand.

Earlier, Nitish had asked his Deputy Chief Minster to come clean with the public by giving a “fact-wise reply in public" against the corruption charges hurled at him.

On Tuesday, Nitish Kumar broke his silence on the corruption charges and raids on JDU Chief Lalu Yadav’s family by saying he has zero-tolerance for corruption. He said, "I shall not compromise with my principles. I am firm on my resolve of zero tolerance against corruption."

Without naming RJD chief Lalu and Tejashwi, Nitish Kumar said fact-wise reply should be given in public by those against whom allegations of corruption had surfaced. So far, he added, the reply or explanation given by them is not satisfactory. They should come out with fact-wise reply in public."

“The alliance is strong and will not break.” “BJP will get a fitting reply. This is a conspiracy by (Narendra) Modi and (Amit) Shah,” he said referring to the Prime Minister and the BJP's president. "We are being punished for being from a backward caste," the Bihar deputy CM added.

Last week, the CBI had registered a corruption case against the RJD Chief Lalu Yadav and conducted raids on the residence of Lalu and his family members including his wife Rabri Devi, son Tejashwi Yadav and daughter Misa Bharti.
