Teenager Gang-Raped In Hospital's ICU In Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly

A teenager was allegedly gang-raped by a hospital staffer and four others in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, media reported on Saturday.

“Victim narrated her ordeal after she was shifted to the general ward. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway,” A Singh, Superintendent of Police (City) told ANI.

Police further informed that the girl was admitted to hospital after she was bitten by a snake and was put on the ventilator in the ICU ward of the hospital, however, later she was shifted to the general ward.

So far, in the case, the police have arrested a staff member and are on the lookout for four others. The Police have also seized the CCTV footage of the ICU.

According to reports, the girl was the only patient in the ICU when she was gang-raped.

A man in uniform with four others walked into the room at night. First, they had tried forcefully to give her an injection and when she fought them, the men gagged her and tied her hands and raped her, the teenager told her grandmother.

Her grandmother complained to the doctors about the incident and in response, the hospital authorities called the police.
