Accusing the security forces of negligence despite intelligent inputs warning the forces of a possible attack in the region, Subramanian Swamy seems to be holding the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval responsible for the attacks on Amarnath pilgrims.

Swamy was referring Jammu and Kashmir Inspector General of Police Muneer Khan’s letter to the security forces, including the Army, CRPF and state’s range DIGs, that warned the forces of possible terrorist attack.

Muneer Khan in his letter said, “possibility of a sensational attack by a terrorist outfit cannot be ruled out.”

Earlier in April, Swamy had held Doval responsible for the ongoing unrest in the Kashmir valley tweeting, “Ram Madhav admits to CNN News18 that PDP BJP has failed. Then who is accountable but him and Doval? Did they bother to check before leaping?”

He was referring to an interview BJP leader Ram Madhav had given to a television channel, where he reportedly said the BJP-PDP alliance could "have done better" in handling the situation in J&K.

In a similar line of attack, Swamy on Tuesday tweeted, “Since the Govt had prior information and warning as early as June 25th, somebody in the bureaucracy is accountable! Who? PTs can guess?”

The Congress also pointed out a similar question asking, “why the Centre and the J&K government took no measures to keep the Amarnath pilgrims safe when they had intelligence inputs as early as on June 25th that a terror attack on them was imminent.”

These political attacks came a day after some terrorists attack a bus of pilgrims destined for Amarnath killing seven in J&K's Anantnag area.

Suggesting the implementation of President’s rule in J&K, Swamy urged that the state must be dismissed. He said, “This is the tipping point. The civilian government should be dismissed or should be asked to resign, and we should impose the Central rule through the Governor in Jammu and Kashmir.”

He added, “We should now be prepared for military operation because all other solutions are useless as they are being proved.”
