Shocking! Former Business Partner Sets Teacher Ablaze In Front Of Class 5 Students

Women in India have faced countless horrors, from being raped and sexually assaulted, to being attacked by acid and facing domestic violence. However, most of the time the travesties happen away from the vulnerable and innocent eyes of children.

In a shocking incident on Wednesday, a business partner allegedly attacked a 50-year-old government school teacher KG Sunanda in her classroom in Shambaiahnapalya, Magadi taluk, around 55 km from Bengaluru in direct view of all the Class 5 students in present in the class.

As the stunned students watched, the attacker poured kerosene on the teacher and set her ablaze. The attacker then attempted to escape and students ran out from the class to seek help for their teacher.

KG Sunanda suffered 50 percent burns and was shifted to a hospital. According to doctors, the burns she suffered were severe and she has been kept under observation.

"Around 2 pm, a man entered the classroom and shouted at the teacher, and they argued for a while. The teacher asked him to leave the room. He opened a bottle and poured liquid on her. He struck a match and set her on fire. We were helpless and screamed," a student was quoted as saying.

Sunanda had been teaching Social Science to class 5 students when the incident took place.

Police have launched a hunt for the alleged attacker who is absconding.
