Scam seems to be the only face of Bihar politics nowadays as the state's deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav is the latest to come under the scanner of CBI on corruption charges. The swindle came into the limelight last week when the CBI pressed charges against RJD Chief and father of Tejashwi, Lalu Prasad Yadav, for being allegedly involved in granting illegal favours to private hotels run by the subsidiary of IRCTC, during his tenure as the railway chief in 2006.

Following the fresh charges, in this case, RJD's allies in the Mahagathbandhan is the motion of Tejashwi Yadav stepping down from his post. However, the minister still has its backing in the RJD camp, where leaders like Abdul Bari Siddiqui claim the charges to be a conspiracy of BJP aiming to destabilise the coalition situation in Bihar. In the light of this, Siddiqui also expressed his party's great interest in fighting against BJP with full force in the oncoming anti-BJP rally.

RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiqui said that a majority of MLAs are in favour of Tejashwi Yadav, and they are of the view that there is no need him to step down from the post. He alleged that BJP is conspiring to destabilise the coalition in the state.

The RJD has 80 MLAs in Mahagathbandhan while JD (U) has 71 members in the state assembly.

The alleged corruption charges against the members of Lalu Yadav's family has caused a serious stir in the ruling alliance. Janata Dal (United), which is next to RJD in terms of majority in the state assembly has also summoned a meeting to discuss future strategies. However, the party is yet to announce anything big.
