We Knew This Was Going On For Past 3-4 Months, Says Rahul Gandhi On Nitish Kumar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's sudden resignation and subsequent swearing-in with the backing of the BJP took the public by surprise, however according to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, they 'clearly knew' that Nitish had been planning for the same for the past 3-4 months.

"In politics you come to know of what is going on in the minds of people. Clearly, I knew Nitish ji is planning. We knew this was going on for the last three-four months," said Rahul to reporters.

"People do anything for their selfish motives. There is no principle, no credibility. They can do anything for power," he said.

Nitish Kumar broke off the Grand Alliance in Bihar where he had formed the government with RJD and the Congress.

"He (Nitish) had joined hands with us in the anti- communal fight, but Nitish Kumar, for his personal politics, joined hands with those against whom he had fought," said a seething Gandhi.

Meanwhile, Nitish claimed that he resigned based on the prevailing 'environment' as the deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, son of ally Lalu Prasad Yadav, was embroiled in corruption charges.

RJD has launched protests claiming that as the single largest party in the state they should have chance of forming government in the state.
