Rahul Gandhi & Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Met In Delhi, Discusses Fake News Issue

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on Monday met Congress party chief Rahul Gandhi and discussed the issue of fake news.

"Jack Dorsey, the Co-Founder and CEO of Twitter dropped in to chat this morning. Twitter has grown into the most dominant 'conversation' platform globally. Jack explained some of the steps being taken to keep those conversations healthy and measures being taken to tackle the menace of fake news," Gandhi tweeted.

Dorsey also discussed with Gandhi that how they are working on improving their platform to promote healthy conversation on it.

In the month of July this year, Twitter cleared 70 million fake accounts from its database to promote healthy conversation and fight bots and trolls over the platform.   

The micro-blogging platform, Twitter has 336 million users globally.

Dorsey, who arrived in India on his maiden visit last week also met the Dalai Lama.

"Thank you Dalai Lama. You’re an amazing teacher. Also: thank you for not actually pulling out my nose ring, despite a lot of painful effort," Dorsey tweeted.

A study conducted by researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology had revealed that fake news travels faster and deeper than the truth.
