Taking the Congress-BJP conflict to another level, INC Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Union Minister engaged in another heated argument on Friday through the micro-blogging website twitter.

The brawl gained heat when the Congress VP on Friday alleged the BJP-led central government of ‘strangulating reality’ comparing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to German dictator Hitler.

Rahul Gandhi, in a series of tweets, wrote, “Hitler, once wrote: Keep a firm grasp on reality, so you can strangle it at any time. This is what is happening today - strangulation of reality... BJP wants to paint a lie over India so that they can return it to an age of kings and no questions, where people were humiliated by power, where people's voices were crushed, where the poor and weak were trampled upon.”

Union minister Smriti Irani hit back at the Congress vice-president in a tweet saying, “You are 42 years late on this one. No Prices for guessing who was inspired by Hitler, imposed the emergency & trampled over democracy.”

Smriti Irani in her tweet was referring to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi when she had imposed emergency in the country.

She added, “A bleak future awaits the Congress Party, not our Nation!" she said in a tweet late on Friday night, before quipping: "However, thank you @officeofRG for all that you do. Sincerely from the BJP! ”

This isn’t the first time Irani and Rahul Gandhi have broken out into a quarrel on social media. Last week as well, Irani had called him “an immature mind who does not know the history of his own family.”
