President Ram Nath Kovind and Indian First lady Sarita Kovind arrived in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on Monday.

Upon arrival, the couple was received by Chairman of President's office of Vietnam, Dao Viet Trung.

Earlier the couple visited the Museum of Cham in Da Nag city of Vietnam and also witnessed a cultural programme showcasing Cham music and dance.

The Indian President and first lady are on a three-day visit to the south-east Asian nation. This was the first visit of an Indian President to the city of Da Nang since the time India has established diplomatic ties with the Asian nation.

The President’s visit is part of India’s continuing and growing engagement with countries in the Indo-Pacific region under its "Act East” Policy.

India is helping Vietnam in the preservation and conservation of some of these temples. It may be recalled that President Ram Nath Kovind is visiting Vietnam on the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Phu Trong who has been elected as President last month itself.
