PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates Projects Worth Over Rs. 1,550 Crore In Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched several development projects, worth over 1,500 crore rupees, at Balangir in Odisha on Tuesday.

He dedicated to the nation electrification of Jharsuguda- Vizianagaram and Sambalpur-Angul lines spanning 813 km completed at a cost of Rs. 1,085 crore.

PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for the permanent building of Kendriya Vidyalaya at Sonepur in Odisha. The building will be constructed at an investment of Rs 15.81 crore.

PM also unveiled the national Multi-Modal Logistics Park at Jharsuguda. The Park promotes movement of goods for domestic as well as global trade.

It will establish Jharsuguda as a prime logistics hub and boost ease of doing business in the state.

The prime minister also inaugurated renovation and restoration works of Nilamadhav and Siddheswar Temple in Odisha's Boudh district.

This apart, he inaugurated the Bridge no. 588 between Therubali-Singapur road station and Passport Sewa Kendras at six places including Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri, Kandhamal, Bargarh and Bolangir, through video conferencing.

Affirming the Centre's resolve to expand connectivity in Odisha, he said education, coupled with connectivity, would lead to speedy development and overall progress of all sections of the society.

"I am happy to unveil projects worth Rs 1,550 crore in areas like education, connectivity, tourism and culture," PM Narendra Modi said while inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for a series of projects.

His visit comes months ahead of the Lok Sabha elections and the Assembly elections slated in Odisha later this year.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister will visit Kollam in Kerala and inaugurate a 13-kilometer bypass connecting a stretch from Mevaram to Kavanad. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will attend the function.

PM Modi will also address a public meeting at Cantonment ground in Kollam and will offer prayers at the famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram.

He will also commission several developmental projects undertaken in the temple complex under Swadeshi Darshan scheme.
