Panchkula Court Sends Honeypreet Insan To Six-Day Police Remand

A day after Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's adopted daughter was arrested by the police, the Panchkula Court has sent Honeypreet Insan to six-day police remand.

Accused of inciting violence after Ram Rahim's conviction in the rape case and conspiring to flee Gurmeet Singh from the court, Honeypreet was on Wednesday produced before the Panchkula court.

Not to mention that the Dera second-in-command Honeypreet had went into hiding ever since their plan failed and Dera Chief was sent to prison to serve his imprisonment sentence.

She was detained near Zirakpur, near the Punjab-Haryana border along with her accomplice Sukhdeep Kaur.

The Haryana Police finally took Dera chief's confidante Honeypreet Insan into custody after an extended search operation that lasted around a month.

Before being presented before the court, Honeypreet was interrogated by the police up till 3 AM on Wednesday regarding the rioting and sedition charges against her, said sources.

Revealing that Honeypreet was "evasive" in the questioning, a police officer said, "She was asked many questions on the Panchkula Riots, where she was after that day and the people she was in touch with."

She was also taken to Panchkula Sector 6 General Hospital for a medical examination after she complained of depression merely hours into her police custody at the Panchkula Sector 23 police station.

While Honeypreet has addressed her disappearance by saying that she was depressed after her beloved father's conviction and imprisonment, the authorities are expected to separately look into her absconding.
