Days after the Bihar Chief Minister broke off the 'mahagathbandhan' grand alliance to join the forces with the Bharatiya Janata Party, to form the government in the state, Nitish Kumar finally broke his mum on the issue and praised the Prime Minister after his newly formed alliance.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, the Bihar Politico said that the Prime Minister is the 'biggest leader' in the country adding that 'no one who can defeat him'.
Nitish also talked about the break-off from mahagathbandhan, saying that he had no other choice after it became "impossible to continue" the alliance with the RJD.
Nitish said, "I kept tolerating everything, including Lalu Yadav, to ensure that Mahagathbandhan remained intact... After a while, we didn't have any other option left." Adding that he never spoke against RJD leader Lalu Yadav, Nitish said that he respected the sanctity of alliance.
Nitish, while asserting that he didn't want anyone to resign, said that he asked the RJD to clarify the allegations on Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, but he added: "They were not ready to clarify".
Well known for his clean image, Nitish was left in a predicament when he found out about the corruption charges against his alliance leader Lalu Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav who is also the Deputy Chief Minister in his government.
