The uncertainties in Bihar's politics came to a bitter end as the JD(U) chief broke his mum resigning from the post of Bihar Chief Minister.
The JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation to the governor of state Kesari Nath Tripathi, in a meeting on Wednesday.
Nitish Kumar's resignation comes in line with the political crisis in the 'mahagathbandhan' (grand alliance) in Bihar politics that started since the CBI raids on Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family's residence.
Nitish Kumar said, "It's not possible to work in this environment, I tried. Tried to find out a solution" outside the Raj Bhavan after submitting his resignation to the governor.
The dispute in 'mahagathbandhan' started after the Central Bureau of Investigation filed a corruption case against the RJD leader and his family and raided their residences. The case also included Deputy CM Tejashwi’s name, after which demands of his resignation surfaced.
The Bihar Chief Minister had asked Deputy CM Tejashwi to come clean to the public 'fact-wise' on the allegations against him. However, RJD's clarifications weren't good enough said a senior JD(U) leader.
Nitish also mentioned the incident in his address outside Raj Bhavan saying that he only demanded a clarification of on the allegations.
