As some property dispute rose in prominent businessman Dhiren Rawani's family, his own nephew, Kunal Rawani killed him in his parent's residence near Dhanbad last Friday, after which he was lynched to death by a mob that caught him.
Dhiren Rawai, Chairman of Rainbow Group, is a prominent businessman in eastern India with his company operating in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. He was on Friday, shot dead by his own nephew Kunal Rawai at his parent's house at Bhowra, near Dhanbad.
Dhiren had went to his parent's house in Bhowra to celebrate Manasa Puja. He was talking to his neighbours when his nephew came riding on a bike and shot 3 bullets in his chest. The neighbours immediately rushed the businessman to the nearest hospital, Central Hospital of Bharat Coking Coal Limited in Dhanbad, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Nephew Kunal, after shooting his uncle, tried to flee the spot, but was caught by the neighbours. The angry mob thrashed the youngster with stones and rods. Kunal suffered a broken skull and jaw while his eyes were also poked badly.
Kunal was also rushed to Hospital, citing his critical condition, the doctors immediately started his treatment, however, he died on the operation table.
According to the police a loaded gun and a Yamaha bike was recovered from him.
while Kunal died in the Patliputra Medical College Hospital (PMCH), his father Shankar Rawani is locked up in prison after Dhiren had lodged a complaint against him in a property dispute.
