Police Officer Saves Hundreds Of Students, Runs Off With 10kg Bomb On Shoulder

In a heroic act, a Madhya Pradesh police officer saved around 400 students of a government school by carrying a 10 kg bomb away from the school premises on his shoulder, reported a news outlet.

The 40-year-old head constable in Madhya Pradesh Police, on Friday, was informed of an unidentified object in the backyard of a local government school in Chitora village. When the police reached the spot, Abhishek Patel, in lack of a bomb disposal squad, took the 12-inch bomb, weighing around 10 kg and ram over 1 km into barren lands before putting it on the ground.

Talking to the media, he said that his only objective was to take the bomb as far from the school as possible.

According to the police, the source of the bomb is yet unknown, however, the matter is under investigation.

Madhya Pradesh senior police officer Satish Saxena said, "There is an army range close to the village. The police will investigate how the bomb reached the village."

He also said that the entire police force that reached the spot will be rewarded for displaying exemplary courage.

A 12-second video of the officer running off with the bomb has also gone viral on the internet where he is gaining a lot of praise from the people.
