Two militants have been killed during an operation by security forces on Monday morning in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir.
Based on the intelligence of militants being in the area, Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF forces launched a cordon and search operation in Pulwama's Malangpora and a militant was killed in the Bahmnoo Village.
The slain militant has been identified as Kifayat by authorities.
The second militant was killed later on and has been identified as Jehangir.
According to reports, both the militants are of the Zakir Musa group.
Zakir Musa, who was heading the Hizbul Mujahideen after the death of Burhan Wani, quit the militant outfit in May after the group refused to back his statement warning that Hurriyat leaders would be beheaded for calling the Kashmir issue "political".
Musa later joined allegiance with Al-Qaeda.
