In an interview with CNN News18, Congress party’s Delhi chief Sheila Dikshit said that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was not as tough on Pakistan and terrorism as the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During an interview to News 18 she was asked about the UPA government’s stand after the deadly 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, to this she replied, “It has to be agreed that Manmohan Singh was not as strong in dealing with terrorism as the current prime minister is.”

She added that there is a feeling that Modi has taken action against Pakistan only with an eye on politics. She was referring to the IAF air strikes at a Jaish-e-Mohammed training camp in Balakot in Pakistan.

Later on, as her statement sparked political controversy, Sheila Dixit told ANI, “If something is taken out of context, I can't say.”

Over 150 people were killed in indiscriminate firing by terrorists at Taj hotel and other places in Mumbai on November 26, 2008.
