Manipur: PM Modi Inaugurates 8 New Projects, Addresses Public Meeting In Imphal

PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 12 development projects worth Rs 1,500 crore in Manipur on Friday.

The projects which PM Modi inaugurated include the integrated check post in Tengnoupal district, Dolaithabi Barrage project of Imphal East district, FCI food storage godown in Imphal East district and the Buffer water reservoirs in Ukhrul district.

Coordinating Committee (CorCom) of four militant organisations in Manipur called out for the state-wide shutdown on the day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit.

Due to this, the Manipur government tightened security in the state ahead of PM visit. Director General of Police LM Khaute instructed police and para-military forces to be on duty round the clock.

PM Modi also addressed a rally in Imphal (Manipur) today as part of the BJP’s outreach programme in the northeast.

Prime Minister Modi said addressing the rally that it's because of the negligence of past governments in Manipur that the project worth 19 or 20 crores has to be completed at the cost of 500 crores now.

He added, many sportspersons from Manipur made India proud on the national and international level.

As per the Centre's vision of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, it is ensured that no region or person is excluded from development.

In the evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address Vijay Samkalp Samavesh at Silchar in Southern Assam. This is his first visit to Barak Valley as Prime Minister.
