Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Tejasvi Surya Can't Keep Calm, Tweets 'OMG' As BJP Fields Him For Bangalore South

The BJP on Monday fielded a young lawyer, Tejasvi Surya for Bengaluru South Lok Sabha seat, which was widely expected to go to Tejaswini Ananthkumar, the widow of Union minister Ananthkumar who passed away in November last year.

The minister had won six straight terms from Bengaluru South between 1996 and 2014.

Tejasvi’s name came after a lot of debate and long hour meeting between BJP ministers late at night. Earlier there were speculations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may contest from there.

Tejasvi took to his Twitter account to share the news and his excitement was evident in his tweets.

Tejasvi Surya, who comes from a family of BJP leaders is nephew of BJP lawmaker Ravi Subramanya and is believed to have an association with the party's ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Reportedly, Tejasvi Surya, is known for his strong Hindutva views and is a founder of a social organization named "Arise India". He is a practicing lawyer at the Karnataka High Court.

He has reportedly also handled the BJP's IT cell in Karnataka.
